About

Fusion Drumline of ISD 622

Fusion Drumline is an extra-curricular activity available to students in grades 7-12 throughout all of ISD 622.

As a percussion group that performs indoors during the winter months, our show combines marching, acting, and musical performances. We play a variety of instruments, including snare, tenor, and bass drums, as well as mallet instruments such as marimbas, xylophones, and vibraphones. Additionally, we incorporate electric and bass guitar, cymbals, piano, and other percussion instruments.

We participate in MPA (Minnesota Percussion Association) sanctioned events, as well as performances at school events. Rehearsals begin in October, and prior experience is not required. Students rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with some Saturday rehearsals starting in November. During the competition season, which generally runs from February to early April, we showcase our skills.

Family members of drumline students are an integral part of the Fusion Drumline Parent Booster Organization. This organization raises most of the operating money for our group. The cost of participation is $185.

For more information about the drumline experience, follow ISD 622 Fusion Drumline on Facebook and Instagram, and check out our Events page.
